“A New Day EP Out Now”
After enduring a series of lineup changes, Days of Season faced yet another shift when their singer, Emily, made the difficult decision to part ways for personal reasons.
Although saddened by her departure, the members saw this as an opportunity to search for a new voice that could elevate their evolving sound. In December 2013, they encountered Rebecca Emont, a gifted vocalist from New Jersey, whose powerful presence and vocal versatility breathed fresh life into the band and ignited a renewed sense of purpose.
By late January 2014, after writing four compelling new songs, the band felt a renewed drive to capture the energy they had found together. Each song told a story, and each story brought them closer to redefining their musical identity. This was not just about recording tracks; it was about embarking on a creative journey that would push their boundaries and challenge the very core of what Days of Season stood for. They entered the studio to record their third EP, titled A New Day, marking the start of a bold chapter where they sought to bring back the soul of rock music, merging modern innovation with the authenticity that had always defined them.
The release of A New Day represented more than just a new collection of songs; it symbolized the rebirth of the band, a commitment to elevate their craft, and a pledge to resonate deeply with their audience.
During this time, Days of Season was honored to stand alongside well-established acts like My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Madina Lake, Every Avenue, and We Are The In Crowd, recording in the revered Nada Recording Studio in New Windsor, New York. With the EP produced by the legendary John Naclerio, owner of Nada Studio, and the skilled Jim Cobb, the band’s sound reached new heights of refinement, depth, and emotional intensity, bringing their creative vision to life in ways that captured both their individual artistry and collective spirit.
In March 2014, the band took their artistic expression to a new level with the production of their third official music video for the song “Don’t Leave Me” from A New Day. Directed and edited by Lea LaMort, this video became a cinematic journey in its own right, filmed at the University of Rochester and featuring historical World War II-era military aircraft in Rochester, New York.
The setting, imbued with echoes of the past, served as a hauntingly beautiful backdrop that enhanced the emotional weight of the song’s themes of separation, resilience, and hope. With this ambitious project, Days of Season not only captured their vision visually but also underscored their dedication to blending music with storytelling on a grander scale.
This period of reinvention saw Days of Season embracing a newfound maturity in both their sound and identity. Their commitment to exploring new musical territories and sharing experiences through innovative production and meaningful lyrics highlighted their evolution as artists. As they forged ahead, Days of Season’s journey became a testament to resilience, unity, and the relentless pursuit of artistic excellence, marking them as a band that continually sought to push beyond the ordinary and connect with audiences in deeply transformative ways. This was only the beginning of a larger story, one they were eager to unfold.
